Scope and content:

The second subgroup within this record group are files of the Michigan Center for Charter Schools during the period of its organizational life, 1994 to 1995. The organization was established to provide support and encouragement to charter schools in Michigan, thus there is much documentation on the actual process of establishing such a school. The MCCS subgroup consists of the following series: Foundations/Funding Corporations; Topical Files; Conferences and Forums; Correspondence; Record Books; Charter Schools - Governing entities; Charter Schools (by name); and Statements, Guidelines, etc.
