Karwan), including articles on the continuing Jihad in post-Soviet Afghanistan, Pakistan's support for the Mujaheddin, Afghan nationalism and national identity, the return of refugees after the defeat of Najibullah, the reconstruction of free mass media, and the future of the region in general, illustrated throughout with reproductions of photographs and a few political cartoons.
