Miscellaneous Materials contains a book, "Respecting the Soul: Daily Reflections for Black Lesbians and Gays," dedicated to Ms. Ellis; several guest books for her birthday celebrations, and a journal.

The Papers, Correspondence, and Events series holds biographical information; email, letters, and cards; newspaper clippings; and publicity materials. A cassette recording and partial transcript of "Living on Earth," a National Public Radio broadcast with Ruth Ellis, is included, as well as materials related to the film "Living with Pride: Ruth Ellis @100."

The Audio-Visual Materials series contains both audio and visual cassette tapes of TM presentations, debates, or appearances by DeWeese on radio or television programs.

The Background Materials series, (.10 linear feet, 1967-1999), includes a curriculum vitae with a chronological list of Sparling's choreographic works through the year 1999, a journal written while he was on tour in the Soviet Union in 1973, news clippings, and other biographical materials.

In the Choreography series, (.20 linear feet, 1982-1999), are notes and sketches for several choreographic works by Sparling. The works represented--including "Delirium Waltz," "Seven Enigmas" and "Travelogue"--are all from the 1990s, except for "A Fearful Symmetry," which was first performed in 1981. The materials are arranged alphabetically by title.

The Correspondence series, (.10 linear feet, 1979-1998), primarily contains letters written by Sparling to his mother, and postcards sent to his family while he was on tour. The letters cover the years from his first at Interlochen in 1966 through 1999, and include personal insights and descriptions of people, performances, and life on tour.

The first series Brigham Building System (1944-1947, 1997) consists of prints, research designs and slides that document the process that Charles Lane went through to produce some of the first manufactured homes. The researcher should take special interest in the stress tests that were performed on the building materials at the University of Michigan, with the help of Professor George McConkey. Also of interest are the prints of the several models that Lane proposed.

The third series, Huron High School (1964-1997) contains materials that were used in the building of Huron High School, Ann Arbor, Michigan. These materials include what Lane referred to as "production books" which document the day-to-day progress of construction, prints of architectural drawings and educational specifications guides in which the staff of the future high school specified what their needs would be in the new building. The unique circular design of the school required that Lane draw his original designs on Mylar so that the circular pattern would be completely accurate; the use of Mylar at that time was seen as a novelty. This series contains articles that were written about the high school and published in a variety of magazines.

Lane Projects (1948-1983), the second series, documents the various types of projects, like residences and schools, that Lane spent the majority of his career designing. The researcher should note that in the first subseries - "General" - are two brochures. The brochures show photos, and list many of the projects that Lane's firm designed before 1966. Within this series are several roles of negative microfilm.
